Executive Summary
Cristian Vargas has more than 20 years of professional experience in the practice of law, specializing at the very beginning of his career in the field of Tax Legislation emphasizing the skills of both interpretation and practical application of the law. His professional career at the Chilean Internal Revenue Service appointed him as Chief of the Tax Method Department and Legal Director of the institution. In the academic field, he has been granted with the position of university lecturer in courses of Tax Law and Economic Law. He is currently member of the Chilean Bar Association and member of the Chilean Institute of Tax Law.
Regarding his professional career, he has distinguished in the field of Legal Tax advisory in general, acquiring vast experience on labours concerning legal consultancy over Public Entities, draft of tax reports, pronouncement of interpretation of legal provisions and counselling of draft bills. As Legal Director of the Chilean Internal Revenue Service, he had at his charge the management and supervision, on a national scale, of the legal works of the entity, and additionally took care of labours related with legal advisory and legal defence of the entity.
